I attempted to make a turkey burger
tonight, which I usually succeed in doing so, but I failed miserably
for some reason this time. Darn it. Oddly enough I heard someone
knock on my front door just as I flipped my
burning/falling-apart-lean-turkey-burger. Thankfully, it was David,
my Knight in shining armor! He was on his way to the gym when he
decided he wanted to “spend time with his girl” instead. He said
my turkey burger smelt good, and that he was hungry too. There was NO
WAY I was going to cook another shitty turkey burger for him though,
so he suggested we went out! Sigh, I
was rescued.
It's
moments like these where I stop and think to myself “I am SO
thankful for the incredible people in my life”. Yeah, not only do I
have an amazing man to call my own and rescue me from my failed
attempts to cook, but I have incredible friends and family that have
been showing me their true friendship lately.
Since
I took the risk of moving back to Arkansas, it's been tough to get my
feet back on the ground financially. Well actually, my feet are
literally on the ground more than ever, because I still don't own a
car, I haven't now for almost two years. I do however have a cozy
apartment, and a wonderful Salon that I proudly work in. Times like
these I've realized how much I adore this community, my friends, my
family, and my David. Why? Because every single one of you has
changed my life for the better.
I've
been in desperate times of need, and you guys have taken care of me.
Thank you. Thank you for your kindness, inspiration, hope, hugs,
craziness, high fives, laughs, silly faces, love, support, shoulder
to cry on, giving hearts, everything.
You
guys have taught me so much about kindness and friendship- more than
you realize! I only hope I will one day cultivate the heart of gold
that each of you posses and take care of you, as you have taken care
of me.
It
hasn't been easy for me to except that I'm no longer in Vancouver
Canada, but let me tell you, I can call Little Rock Arkansas HOME
because of the community I have here.
It is
now 2012 and I feel EXCITED about this year. Why? Because the
possibilities are ENDLESS! I know this is the time of year where “new
year goals” is the main topic in conversation, but for some reason,
it's causing me to dig deep and discover what in the WORLD are my
goals? Not just “fold laundry” goals, but goals that take me
places, challenge me, goals that improve my very existence.
So, I
am currently on a journey of exploring what more I WANT out of life.
At the same time, enjoying my day to day wonders of living back in
Little Rock.
